175th Church Anniversary

"MARVELLOUS MILESTONE AND MARVELLOUS ME"

     hand

To celebrate 175 years of Downe Baptist Church we are having a special celebratory weekend over 6 and 7 June.  As well as marking the occasion with food and thanksgiving, we're having a series of open presentations about science, creation and design by renowned academic and speaker Professor Stuart Burgess - all here just a stone's throw away from historic Down House.

Stuart will explore where life came from.  Was it cobbled together though blind evolution or has the human body been designed by a masterful designer?  The human body is a masterpiece of engineering.  Of course, like all technology, it degrades with misuse, when accidents happen, and with time. But the fact is our bodies outclass all the technology humans beings have ever devised.

If you really want to think outside the box of evolutionary theory, then Stuart will definitely give you food for thought!  With forty years of experience in construction engineering, he speaks as a man who has spent a lifetime designing elegant complex systems.

So save the date and come along to Downe Baptist Church on 6 and 7 June to hear Stuart open up this fascinating subject.  Bring a friend and bring your questions!

We’ll kick off on Saturday 6 June with food and Stuart’s first talk.  Timings and further details will be available nearer the time.
