About us
We are a Grace Baptist church founded in 1851.Located in the Kent village of Downe, just outside of Biggin Hill and within the London Borough of Bromley.We are a group of Christians from all walks of life who desire to know the Lord Jesus Christ and to make Him known to others.
We are a Grace Baptist Church, part of an association of churches that seeks to help and encourage one another - there are over 60 such churches in the South East of England alone. (For more details of of this association click here). We hold to the biblical, historic (reformed), Christian faith and preach Jesus Christ, the Son of God, as Lord and Saviour. We are not run by an external hierachical body, but are congregational in our government. We have a couple of elders who have been set apart with the responsibility of leading the church, but all members are involved in descision making.
